Ciaron Brooks

Ciaron began dancing at the age of 5 in his father’s dancing school, the Brooks Academy. He competed until the age of ten before turning his attention to other sporting interests. During this time Ciaron enjoyed the ‘other’ side of Irish dancing, where he attended classes merely for enjoyment and fitness. At 14, Ciaron returned to the competitive world of Irish dancing and over the next four years enjoyed successes at various major fesianna.

In 1996, Ciaron auditioned successfully for the world-wide phenomenon, Riverdance. Over the course of the next 6 years, Ciaron toured with some of the most renown names in Irish Dancing such as Colin Dunne, Jean Butler and Brendan Galway to name but a few! He danced in an array of countries including Australia , New Zealand , Hong Kong , Japan , France and Germany , as well as completing three sell out tours of the UK . He has also appeared on numerous television shows including The National Lottery, The Generation Game and The Royal Variety Show.

In 2002, Ciaron retired from Riverdance and returned home to begin studying for his degree in Business Studies. He began teaching with his dad and sister, Sinead, at the Brooks Academy, which culminated in him successfully passing his ADCRG exam with honors in 2006, alongside his now fiancée, Majella Collins. Ciaron successfully passed his ADCRG in May 2010.
